(eds note:incomplete caption info...no idea who the guy on the left is but he's got a Scalextric shirt on)
Today at Zandvoort the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport drivers had to get to grips with a completely different set of identical race cars. They may be ever so slightly smaller with a bit less power, but they’re every bit as much fun – the new A1GP Scalextric set.
Top A1GP drivers including Dutch hero Jeroen Bleekemolen, Ryan Briscoe, Matt Halliday and Britain’s Darren Manning tried out the new Scalextric A1GP range for themselves at the Zandvoort track before taking to the track in their own, much more powerful A1GP cars for the official qualifying sessions. As our exclusive photo gallery shows, they certainly enjoyed trying their hand at the new cars.
Available from September 2006, the A1GP Analogue and Digital Scalextric sets feature individual cars from the top competing nations including Great Britain and France. The new A1GP Micro Scalextric set will also be launched shortly.
